Michael Schluchtmann We were using an old version of Citrix Presentation Server to provide off campus access to a few key resources. Our budget is pretty tight and when we got an upgrade quote from Citrix it was clear we needed to look at alternatives. Luckily, we ran across 2x's Load Balancer & Application Server solution which promised even more functionality at less than 1/8th the cost per user.This seemed entirely too good to be true but our testing with the free trial confirmed everything so we went forward and have been very pleased. We're using it not only to replace the off campus functions our Citrix server provided but to securely, and transparently to the user, provide access to our ERP system. The overhead of the 2x ApplicationServer was low enough that we were able to build our farm with several older, underpowered servers. Load balancing and fail over work seamlessly.We would highly recommend 2x to anyone looking for a reliable load balancing app server system. Its low upfront and maintenance costs, both in terms of time and money, make it a great choice. Ethan Bearman The one issue we had which was due to a bug in our own software was corrected by a work-around patch that the 2X developers created for us. Try getting that kind of direct personal support from Citrix! We have since started using 2X to publish other applications and look forward to using the load balancing features as well.
Ben Bricker We worked closely with John at 2x to come up with a plan to replace Citrix and to deploy 2x Application Server and 2x Application clients within our Company. I was amazed on how the process was simple and easy to deploy, I had all 120 workstation installed in less than 1 hour using Active Directory and Opra to modify the msi file....Read more
